Community Education & Wellness: Free Workshops for Black and Latina Women in 2026

Let’s be real: survival is exhausting. For many Black and Latina women, "wellness" has felt like a luxury reserved for those with the time and the means to step away from the front lines of their own lives. We carry the weight of our families, our careers, and the systemic barriers that try to tell us our peace is negotiable.

It isn’t. You do not have to earn rest.

At Daughters of Both Suns, we believe that healing is a birthright, not a reward for enduring. We are moving from survival to systems of support that actually see us. Our 2026 community education and wellness programs are built from the ground up to provide culturally responsive therapy resources and trauma-informed care for women of color that doesn't ask you to leave your identity at the door.

Healing in a Digital Space: The "Closing the Gap" Workshop

We know that life doesn't always allow for a full day away. Sometimes, the most radical act of self-care you can manage is carving out an hour in your living room. Our virtual programming is designed to bridge the physical and financial distance that often prevents us from accessing mental health resources for black women and latina mental health support.

One of our flagship virtual events for 2026 is the "Closing the Gap" workshop. This session focuses on the intersection of mental health and systemic inequality, providing practical tools to navigate spaces that weren't built for us. It’s about more than just "coping": it’s about reclaiming your agency.

Whether you’re joining from your lunch break or after the kids are in bed, these virtual spaces offer a way to connect with BIPOC mental health experts who understand the nuances of our lived experiences.

Coming Together: The Rooted & Restored Retreat

There is a specific kind of magic that happens when we gather in person. On October 24, 2026, we are hosting the Rooted & Restored Retreat. This isn't your typical conference. It’s an immersive day designed to help you reconnect with your body and your community.

In a world that often demands we be "strong" to the point of breaking, this retreat is an invitation to bend. We will dive deep into wellness programs for women of color, focusing on:

  • Trauma Recovery: Moving past the "strong woman" narrative to find genuine healing.

  • Maternal Health: Addressing the unique stressors and systemic challenges of motherhood.

  • Autism Advocacy: Our Spectrum of Hope initiative provides a safe space for caregivers and neurodivergent individuals to find resources and community.

We don't break. We bend. And when we bend together, we create a circle of support that is unbreakable.

Why Community Education Matters

Why do we focus so heavily on community education mental health? Because information is a tool for liberation. When we understand the "why" behind our burnout or our trauma, we can begin to dismantle its power over us.

Our 2026 workshops aren't just lectures; they are Healing Circles and collaborative spaces where your voice matters. We cover everything from navigating insurance through our BridgeCare program to managing the intergenerational legacies we carry.

  • Maternal Health Awareness: Support for the journey of motherhood, from prenatal care to postpartum wellness.

  • Autism Advocacy & Support: Resources through our Spectrum of Hope program for families navigating neurodiversity.

  • Financial Literacy Coaching: Because mental wellness and financial stability are deeply intertwined.

Your Journey, Your Pace

You might be feeling hesitant. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and felt misunderstood, or maybe the idea of a "retreat" feels like too much right now. That’s okay. You can move at your own pace.

Daughters of Both Suns is your partner in this journey. Whether you start with a Crisis Text Line for immediate support or sign up for a three-month workshop series, we are here to ensure you never have to walk the path alone. ✨

Healing isn't a destination; it's a practice of returning to yourself. Are you ready to take the next step?
